Starting or scaling an online business offers incredible opportunities in today's digital age. From e-commerce stores to freelance services, the online marketplace is teeming with potential. However, many aspiring entrepreneurs encounter common obstacles that can stall their progress. Let me share my experiences and insights.
So far, I've had 3 websites of my own. Two of these ecommerce websites in wordpress and the last one, my name brand here in Systeme.io (by the way if you land on this link ...you'll be happily granted 40% off!)
If you're new and unfamiliar with Systeme.io, don't worry! It's a user-friendly platform designed to help you manage every aspect of your online business—from email marketing to building sales funnels, Blog, website—all without needing technical expertise.

But back to us. The ecommerce business is really a challenge - especially if you choose to sell very very tight niche products with very little market. The struggle and the effort you need to put into "getting the message out" and make yourself known is extreme.
Digital online marketing
My third website is purely dedicated to digital, with digital products only.
Not that it makes things easier but definitely the cost of the products and the warehousing&shipping does really take off alot of costs and pressure. Customer care when shipments go wrong, or problems with products occur.. now that can become a real headache!
Over years of courses taken and hundreds of dollars spent, I've collected a few things that might resonate with where you are now and, what I think "could be a possible solution" or at least, a "AHA moment" of thought. I've gone through all this information extensively in the membership I've enrolled in, and LOVE ! (Dot Com Truths VIP) What I'll be talking about here is part of a very interesting course in the membership.
Are you trying to start or scale your online business but…
Many entrepreneurs launch their online businesses with high hopes, only to find that getting that first sale can be elusive. Here are some reasons why:
Quit too early, short-term view: It's easy to become discouraged and give up too soon. Building an online presence takes time and consistent effort.
Solution: Commit to a long-term vision and be patient. Track your progress and celebrate small victories along the way.
Wrong niche or business model: Sometimes, the chosen niche might be too saturated or not aligned with market demands.
Solution: Conduct thorough market research to identify a niche with demand but less competition. Ensure it aligns with your interests and expertise.
Are you sick of watching endless training videos and courses?
The internet is full of training resources, but too much can lead to paralysis by analysis.
Don’t take action, learning mode only: Continually consuming content without implementing it can stall progress.
Solution: Balance learning with doing. For every hour spent on training, spend equal time applying what you've learned.
Consumer mindset, shiny object syndrome: Jumping from one course to another without seeing them through.
Solution: Choose one or two comprehensive courses and stick with them until you've mastered the material and seen results.
Do you hate feeling information overload?
With so much information available, it's easy to feel overwhelmed.
Wrong goal, not having clarity on where they are heading exactly: Without clear goals, it’s difficult to filter useful information from noise.
Solution: Define specific, achievable goals for your business. Use these goals to guide your learning and focus.
Wrong niche or business model: Complexity in your chosen niche can contribute to feeling overwhelmed.
Solution: Simplify your business model and focus on key activities that drive results.
Are you fed up with receiving marketing messages pulling you in different directions?
Constant marketing messages can be distracting and confusing.
Consumer mindset, shiny object syndrome: Being swayed by every new tool or strategy can derail your focus.
Solution: Develop a clear marketing plan and stick to it. Limit the sources you follow and unsubscribe from unnecessary newsletters.
Wrong goal, not having clarity on where they are heading exactly: A clear vision helps in ignoring irrelevant distractions.
Solution: Regularly revisit your goals and ensure your actions align with them.
Are you overwhelmed with ideas and not knowing what to focus on?
Having too many ideas can be as paralyzing as having none.
Don’t take action, learning mode only: Overplanning without execution leads to stagnation.
Solution: Prioritize your ideas based on impact and feasibility. Create an action plan for each and follow through.
Wrong niche or business model: A well-defined niche can help filter and prioritize ideas effectively.
Solution: Refine your niche to focus on what’s most relevant and beneficial for your audience.
Uncertain what to actually do that will give you the fastest results?
Fast results require strategic actions.
Quit too early, short-term view: Impatience can lead to abandoning strategies before they yield results.
Solution: Focus on high-impact activities and give them time to work. Measure progress regularly.
Wrong goal, not having clarity on where they are heading exactly: Clear, targeted goals help identify the most effective actions.
Solution: Break down your goals into actionable steps and prioritize tasks that drive immediate value.
Not sure how to get clients for free?
Acquiring clients without a budget is a common challenge.
Consumer mindset, shiny object syndrome: Overreliance on paid methods can overshadow free strategies.
Solution: Leverage social media, content marketing, and networking to attract clients organically.
Wrong niche or business model: Certain niches have better organic reach potential.
Solution: Choose a niche that aligns with free client acquisition methods like SEO and social media engagement.
Struggling with your freelance business?
Freelancers often face unique challenges in growing their business.
Quit too early, short-term view: Freelance success requires persistence and consistent effort.
Solution: Build a strong portfolio and network actively. Patience and perseverance are key.
Don’t take action, learning mode only: Proactive client acquisition is essential.
Solution: Regularly reach out to potential clients, ask for referrals, and showcase your work on relevant platforms.
Starting or scaling an online business is a rewarding but challenging endeavor.
